Mike Trella

Mike Trella is an accomplished composer, producer, and guitarist with over 15 years of experience in the music industry. Trella composed the original music for the critically-acclaimed, theatrically released feature film, “The Hornet’s Nest” in 2014. The theme song for the movie, “Chariots”, was one of 59 finalists for the Best Original Song Oscar in 2015. Trella is currently composing the original score for two upcoming Strong Eagle Media feature-length productions.

Trella is a graduate of Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL, where he was named Valedictorian of his MBA program in Entertainment Business. He has worked as an audio engineer for the US Army, National Geographic and several Virginia-based recording studios. His passion for songwriting and performance has resulting in Trella leading a number of indie-rock and soul bands, most notably, the DC-based band, Politicks. As the lead guitarist and songwriter for Politicks, Trella performed with artists such as The Roots, Al Green, Blind Melon, Lauryn Hill, Raphael Saddiq, and Inia Arie. Trella is currently writing and performing with the LA-based trio, Short Sleeve Heart, who are also working on original music for several of Trella’s film projects. Trella’s current projects allow him to blend his passion for soul and indie rock with his penchant for thunderous, cinematic explorations.
